In 2012-2014 “Tornado Modular Systems” company in cooperation with engineering companies such as “COTES” (Russia), “ENERGOINVEST-KBERNETIKA” (Serbia), “ENERGOINTEH” (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and “Machine-Building Factory of Podolsk” (Russia), carried out replacement of the control system to a modern DCS of the 300 MW power-generating unit at Ugljevik CCHP (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina) under the contract No. ECSEE APL3 / WB-02R / 10-EPRS from 15.07.2011, and the appendix to the contract # ECSEE APL3 / WB-02R / 10-EPRS-B-1A “Replacement of the technological process monitoring system and the control system”.

“Tornado Modular Systems” company has executed the works on the DCS design, shipment and adjustment, as well as training of the staff and commissioning. As a result, a complete replacement of the conventional control system to the new DCS was carried out in a short period of 60 days. High qualification and technical level of the specialists, as well as effective interaction in the process of thee work, made it possible to successfully implement the project in a short time. The installed DCS covers the control of the boiler, steam turbine, generator as well as electrical equipment in the unit part, including the link with protective terminals (32 pcs.) at the auxiliary facilities. The system is designed to perform all control and information functions in a continuous operation, including start and stop of the unit, support of the process parameters in the automatic mode, work of the technological protections and interlocks, display of information, alarm, which reports the deviations from the desired values ​​of parameters, etc.

The DCS has been in operation over a year and proved oneself as a simple, reliable and easy to operate. It can be recommended for automation of critically important facilities such as 300 MW (and more) power-generating unit of Ugljevik CHPP, TPP and HPP and similar facilities.
