Automatic control system of the turbo unit No. 5 and external power corrector of Nizhnekamsk CHPP

The integration of the automatic control system (ACS) involves the following actions:

  • Replacement of the hydraulic control system of R-100-130 / 15 turbo units with the electro-hydraulic control system (EHCS);
  • Integration of the automatic temperature control system (ATCS) of low-energy steam based on cooling water injection;
  • Integration of the generated power dynamic correction system for CHPP (External capacity corrector).


The EHCS consists of the following elements which provide automatic operation of the turbine in a given mode:

  • Cabinet of EHCS controllers;
  • Control cabinet of drives with local control panel;
  • Engineer’s automated workstation (AWS);
  • Backup station and AWS of EHCS service engineer;
  • Actuators;
  • A set of measuring sensors.


The ATCS is designed to support a given temperature level of reduced steam by changing of the cooling water injection in 12 ... 18 atm selections of “А”, “Б”, “В” and “Г” threads. Changing of the injection and pressure is carried out using the existing single-turn electric actuators.


The ATCS consists of the following elements:

  • Cabinet of ATCS controller;
  • EHCS engineer’s AWS;
  • Backup station and AWS of ATCS service engineer, implemented as part of AWS of the EHCS service engineer;
  • Actuators (available at the station);
  • A set of measuring sensors.


By using a dedicated turbo units with EHCS, the “External capacity corrector” system provides dynamic correction of generated capacity of the CHPP in accordance with the planned task, thus ensuring total and three-minute deviation of the plantwide capacity to be no more than ± 0,5 MW. External capacity corrector is equipped with station shift supervisor’s AWS which is designed to control and configure the system.
