Central transmitter-receiver station of failure preventing system of prefault information acquisition & transmission system for wide-area protection of Ust’-Kamenogorsk electrical substation

In 2015 “Modular Tornado Systems” company completed automation of a 500 kV substation as part of the project called “Building of Ekibastuz 500 kV high voltage line – Shulbinsk HPP (Semey) – Ust’-Kamenogorsk”.

The scope of automation work: design, shipment of central transmitter-receiver station of the failure preventing system of the prefault information acquisition & transmission system for wide-area protection, assembling and commissioning.

The purpose of this project (“Building of Ekibastuz 500 kV high voltage line – Shulbinsk HPP (Semey) – Ust’-Kamenogorsk”) is to increase the network capacity in the “North – East” section, to cover deficits of the East Kazakhstan region regardless of the transit of electric power via the networks of unified power system of Russia and the output of full power of Shulbinsk HPP (ShHPP) when the equalizer of Bulak HPP is launched.

The project implementation period: 2011-2017.

Project cost: 43.3 billion tenge (their own funds).
