ADCS of Ust’-Khantayskaya HPP

Started in 2012, a large-scale reconstruction has been happening at Ust’-Khantayskaya HPP. By 2021, all seven hydroelectric units of the power plant are going to be replaced. Now the second start-up system (PC-2) has become operational. Integrated tests of PC-3 are planned for October 2017, but specialists note that the modern HPP will be commissioned ahead of schedule.

For implementation of the new automatic dispatch control system (ADCS) of the HPP, the new dispatcher control board had to be build. The work is carried out by the Novosibirsk’s “Tornado Modular Systems” company. The new control system will increase the observability level of the facility: if now the staff receives approximately 250 signals about the station operation, the new equipment will output up to 5000 parameters that will help to find a cause of failure more quickly. Also, the new control system will record all actions of the staff and prevent possible incorrect commands, so its implementation the quality of station operation will improve.

The dispatching office is equipped with the new hardware. Currently, installation work have been completed approximately by 70% adjustment work is underway. The main scope of work is expected to be completed in May, and the old control room, which has been in operation since the station was built, will be dismantled after of the new system commissioning. The total cost of the ADCS of the HPP is about 150 million rubles.
